![]() ![]() I received a complimentary e-copy of When the River Runs Dry. I recommend librarians read it themselves to determine its appropriateness for their audience. It may also not be appropriate for some church libraries. For this reason I cannot recommend this book for a K-12 Christian school library. Some may find it offensive - I’m still not sure what I think of it. Wright also has an interesting voice when God speaks in this book. There is also considerable use of minced oaths, even by Christian characters. There is a fair amount of rough language and behavior as well as vigilante justice in the book. I often tell my students to read at least 10% of a book before giving up on it. He has created characters that readers will care about. Marshall Wright did bring connection between characters as the book progressed. I hoped there would be connections as the plot continued. At the beginning it felt to me like he bounced around, a lot and introduced many characters.
